…for solo flute & string quartet
Set in three distinct sections, Here, There, and Gone Again is a delicate dance through a wide spectrum of emotions, and emulates life viewed in the mind of someone riddled with anxiety. “Here” is light, and ebbs in and out of shifting time signatures, emulating the joy of being in the moment. As it winds down, “There” reminds us that these moments are fleeting, and methodically ticks forward with a contemplative, somber tone. The second we feel ourselves slip away, we are “Gone Again,” rapidly driving forward into a chaotic frenzy, striving to keep up and stay afloat in the tumultuous insanity of everyday life.
Written for my dear friend, Katie Conway, an amazing flute player.
