Dinsmoor, (born April 10, 1995), is an Atlanta-based composer, and has studied at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia in the studios of Dr. Nickitas Demos and Brent Milam. He began music composition at 14, and has since compiled a myriad of compositions and arrangements for a variety of settings including solo, chamber ensemble, concert band, and orchestra. James has been commissioned by several music groups including International Counterpoint, the Elite Scholars Academy, and the Lanier High School Symphonic Winds. In 2019 he was the winner of the 4th annual Wind Band Composition Competition, hosted by the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at the Georgia State University School of Music.

In addition to composing contemporary-classical music, James has played clarinet, saxophone, guitar, and drums on different levels throughout his career, and enjoys creating chip-tunes and performing contemporary-pop/rock music covers. He also is an avid gamer and movie enthusiast in his spare time, and believes the music in these mediums are just as impactful as in the orchestral music world.
